Day 3 - Pompei, Paestum, and Dinner with the Team

Wow! We had a really busy day today! First, we went to Pompei to see the ruins. Here's a few pictures:

The first thing you see as you enter the area:

Mom and me in front of...something.

Old pottery and molds of bodies found in the volcanic residue:

Mom's and Dad's heads and some...other things in Pompei:

Next, we drove to Vietri Sul Mare, which is a city on the Amalfi Coast line and ate at a little restaurant. We ordered a half meter pizza:

Mmmm...it was delicious! So much fun, too. After lunch, we drove to Paestum. In Paestum, there were some Greek ruins. Here's a few pictures of what we saw:

An old, round, theater-looking thingy (this is it's technical name):

Not sure what this is/was either:

An old Greek temple:

When we finished seeing everything we wanted to see in Paestum, we traveled (via the scenic route) back home. We rested for about a half an hour before going over to our supervisors' house for dinner. Good times!!!

The Team:

Shannon and Kala??? How did you manage to stay out of both of these pictures??? Well, you can kind of see Kala's arm in the first one. O-well. Sorry guys.

Shannon made Pasta Siciliana, a pork roast with potatoes, a tomato salad with sliced bread and this incredibly wonderful fruit torte:

Yes...it tasted just as good as it looks!!! Love it!

Tomorrow's agenda: Rome in a day...

  1. I love your daily updates with your parents being there! So fun. And you know me, being the stylist, must comment on the hair. I love your curls and cut! Beautiful. (this is Ams and not J by the way....hehe)
